(1928 - 2013) Born in Petite-Rivere de l'Artibonite, Haiti Roger Francois was born in Petite Riviere, Haiti in October 1928. He started out as a wood sculptor but by the early sixties he added painting as a means of artistic expression, continuing to carve occasionally for many years. His rich and varied canvases most often portraying Haitian women are reminiscent of his early work in sculpture. read more
