Comments from Claude Dambreville, the well-known Haitian painter :

This remarkable piece was painted in July 2015. It was realized from the memory I had kept from the popular traditions of Haiti, the country where I was born. This market scene is supposed to be in St Jacques road, in front of the Lazontieres mountain. In my mind and inspiration of the moment, the lady drinking water from a small can, was Erzulia, a water bearer and a regular vendor in almost all the popular street markets. The lady at the far left is Vierge, and the one at the far right is Marie-Rose. This market scene is exclusively and typically Haitian, and could not be seen in any other country of the world.

The giclee is signed in the image on front and hand signed on the back.
