Artist from Haiti - Jean Yvon Casenueve
Jean Yvon likes to paint the day to day life of the people of Les Abricots, therefore his work represents villages, seascapes and mountainside landscapes. He would like viewers to get a glimpse of his country and hopes that they would recognize his homeland in the process. He wants those who see his work to want to go fishing in a boat or swim in the sea. His work is positive in that it shows lively commerce with baskets and pottery that are common in his village. read more
He feels strongly about his name and who will know him through his art. He says that this is the one inheritance he is sure to leave for his children and he hopes that, as a result, his children may want to become artists and continue in is artistic path.
