Themes & Styles - Taino Art
On a buying trip to the Caribbean we came across a style of painting which utilizes Taino Indian petroglyphs. Our gallery now exhibits Taino Art, the art of these first inhabitants of Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
These paintings are rich in texture and color, utilizing several different mediums. Some canvases are layered with burlap and some are painted with a thicker paint so that they stand out, in relief, from the rest of the canvas. The net does not do them justice...the canvases offer depth and dimension, they are not "flat." These canvases must be seen in person to be really appreciated! |
Paintings marked "framed" are framed using simple gold frames unless marked otherwise. Frames shown are representative, not the exact frame. The price of the painting includes the frame.
