From our Haitian art collection
This painting was purchased in Haiti in 2005, at the time the country was in turmoil. We have the bill of sale from the seller, but no additional supporting documentation to support the authenticity of the painting. We believe that this painting is an authentic Hyppolite and we are attributing it to him, but we cannot absolutely guarantee the authenticity. The price reflects the fact that we cannot make that guarantee.
