He then studied for one year at Lycee Firmin and two years at Charlemagne Peralte. His career began in 1982 when he began painting with Jean Pierre Vilme. In 1985 he began painting at the Centre'd'Art and started to work there, rising to the position of Assistant to the Director.
Edme paints a variety of subjects including jungle scenes, still lifes seascapes and landscapes. His jungle scenes are different from most others with which we are familiar in that they contain monkeys, apes and even chickens! His bright colors and attention to detail result in works that are pleasing to the eye.
He has recently started painting in a more contemporary fashion. His subjects have often been dancers and musicians. He achieves the illusion of movement with bold strokes with his brush and utilizes an entirely new palette for these surrealistic paintings. In 2008 Edme relocated to the US, along with his family, where he continues to paint his wonderful paintings.
