(1910 - 1969) Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Amiama learned to paint and worked as an artist in Santa Domingo until 1936 when he settled in Port-au-Prince and started teaching. He became friends with Petion Savain and was instrumental in getting him to participate in the 1939 World's Fair. As one of the original members of the Centre d'Art he exhibited in a number of their group exhibitions.
