Born in Cuba
Alejandro Valdivia graduated from San Alejandro School of the Arts in Cuba with a degree in drawing and painting. Shortly after graduating he took a position as an elementary school art teacher. He also became an art instructor in his local town where he founded the art group Arrecife. They had several expositions for local artists and received both local and national press coverage.
In 1997 he arrived in the United States and continued to work and expand his skills by learning different mediums such mosaics and decorations.
“I strive to leave a genuine mark on each piece and enjoy looking at art from a child's perspective. Many of my pieces are inspired by my childhood experiences in Cuba but I am also fond of landscapes and the ocean. I am passionate about learning new things and being involved in new projects with the belief that life is art and it's all around us.”
