Born in Haiti and now living in Canada since the 1960's (The Hippie years), Pierre Duval has found a niche in the art world. It was a world abound with self expressionism. There was a music revolution which gave birth to the Twist, Cha-cha, Reggae and more.
The visual art took a huge leap in recognition and appreciation when Greenwich Village of New York City and Galleries of the Soho district dared showing works that would shock the gallery visitor.
It is at that time that Duval became aware of abstract and contemporary art.
In the 70's and 80's Duval was dedicated to Laboratory Medicine and worked as an artist on the side .In the last decade, he has devoted all of his time to painting. He shows and sells privately from his residence in Toronto, Canada. His work has been shown at ART EXPO in New York.
His collection contains something for everyone, whether you are a true collector or simply looking to enlighten your living area. Duval enjoys outdoors through camping, hiking with his wife. He travels across Canada from the East (the Maritimes) to the Pacific West.
He also drove through the smallest towns and hamlets of the U.S.A. From Maine in the East to South Dakota, Wyoming in the West where Bisons were once "Kings of the road."
In all, Duval has visited approximately 15 States of the U.S.A., always accompanied by his wife. He has been exposed to creative and "wonderful" things such as: the Presidents' carved faces at Mount Rushmore...and Crazy Horse.
All that inspires him to create an art work that is truly unique.
